Triple world boxing champion (WBA and WBO) Hassan N’Dam is visiting Luxembourg this week to meet teenagers in need of support and encouragement; the boxing star will take part in the “Meet an Athlete” programme developed by Sportunity à.s b.l. with the support of the Service National de la Jeunesse (SNJ).
Aiming to create positive changes in people’s lives through sport, Luxembourg-based Sportunity involves prominent sport figures in working with disadvantaged youth. By personal examples and real life stories, athletes teach children important life lessons and healthy behaviour. Most of the athletes participating in the initiative come from disadvantaged backgrounds, which makes those lessons especially powerful for young people facing difficult life situations.
The meeting with Hassan N’Dam is being organised for young people residing in the south of Grand Duchy during the last week of the school year – just in time for a positive and inspiring start of the summer holidays. The meeting will take place in Maison de Jeunes in Pétange on 11 July 2015.
Hassan N’Dam is a Cameroonian-born French boxer, currently ranked N°5 in the world. Having started boxing at the age of 6 in Cameroon, Hassan has been 3-time African champion, junior and senior, Quarter Finalist at the Junior World Boxing Championships and a Quarter Finalist at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens before turning professional. His professional record counts 32 fights with 30 wins, of which 17 by knockout.
