LUkraine asbl has announced that it raised €3,500 for the CinEast4Ukraine charity project at its special screening of Porcelain War, which recently took place at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.
LUkraine organised the screening, together with its partner CinEast Festival and with the support of the Representation of the European Commission in Luxembourg, on Wednesday 26 February 2025. The film's Director of Photography, Andriy Stefanov, addressed the audience from the screen and spoke about his work on the project and of the hope that all Ukrainians need at the moment.
Luxembourg’s Minister for Culture, Eric Thill, and Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Luxembourg, Anne Calteux, attended the screening of this Oscar 2025 nominated documentary by Slava Leontyev and Brendan Bellomo. LUkraine stated that the support of Minister Thill and Anne Calteux exemplified the continuous efforts of Europe and Luxembourg to stand with Ukraine in these difficult times.
Moreover, LUkraine announced that 21 EcoFlow portable electric generators were distributed to fourteen different hospitals in the Kherson region of Ukraine, as a result of funds collected during the Light Up Hope campaign. The non-profit organisation reported that the equipment will help medical staff continue their life-saving work which is constantly disturbed by power outages.
LUkraine also confirmed that a total of 89 ambulances have been provided by the Ukraine is Calling campaign. The organisation reported that the latest ambulances have been sent to Ukraine through the efforts of the EU Cup tournament, organised by the office of the General Secretary of the European Parliament, Alessandro Chiocchetti, and prizes donated by the Ukrainian Premiere League.
Another ambulance was procured through the “Tombola Solidaire” initiative, described as a project that united 25 Luxembourgish artists and entrepreneurs, who donated items for the auction. LUkraine thanked Mia Kinsch and Gregory Fonseca, as well as De Gudde Wëllen for organising the event.
