The CAPE cultural centre in Ettelbruck is to begin its audiovisual journey around the world by way of "World Exploration", a new travel across borders series, with first a trip to Guatemala, one of the oldest areas of Mayan civilization.
Spectators can participate in a festive and spiritual incursion into the mysteries and history of this beautiful country. This journey to the big screen will be guided by lecturers and directors of the documentary, Ugo Monticone and Julie Corbeil.
The first step of this journey will take place in Guatemala, the Mayan land. Guided by the filmmakers, the public journey to the heart of the capital, Guatemala City, National Parks Tikal and El Mirador, the island of Flores, and follows the course of the Rio Dulce to Livingston at the Far East. This trip will be marked by accounts told in confidence by the Guatemalans who tell of their intimate vision of this beautiful country, from an experienced perspective. The film also shoes the discovery of the country by a walk of several days in the dense jungle populated with intriguing wildlife to a mysterious Mayan city engulfed by vegetation.
Originally from Quebec and Montreal, Ugo Monticone and Julie Corbeil, accomplices scouring the globe for many years to discover the unknown. He is a writer and filmmaker and they are two outstanding communicators. Having made films in India, Morocco and Japan, their film on Guatemala features the beauties of a people and its landscapes.
