On Tuesday 20 May 2025, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) announced the recall of Bonduelle Coleslaw Salad (Salade Coleslaw) “Sauce Douce” due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
The following product has been recalled: Bonduelle brand Salade Coleslaw Sauce Douce, 320g, with the barcode: 3083681081695; use by date: 25/05/2025; lot number: 512707097139.
The product may have been sold in various stores across the Grand Duchy.
There is currently an orange awareness level alert in place (i.e. medium risk/danger).
Listeria monocytogenes can cause fever, headache and gastroenteritis. Vulnerable people such as the immunocompromised and elderly and young children may experience neurological symptoms due to meningitis. Pregnant women should also be particularly attentive to these symptoms. Gastroenteritis can appear between a few hours and three days after consumption, while neurological symptoms may only appear after three months. ALVA advised people who have consumed these products and present these symptoms to consult a doctor and report this consumption.
