On Tuesday 28 October 2025, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) announced the recall of ALDI Guimauves (Marshmallows) due to the high content of mineral-oil hydrocarbons MOSH/MOAH (industrial contaminants).
The following product has been recalled:
⁃ ALDI Guimauves (Marshmallows), 200 g; use-by date: 06/2026; lot number: 27049174; period of sale: 06/10/2025 - 27/10/2025
The product has been on sale in various ALDI stores across Luxembourg.
There is currently an orange awareness level alert in place (i.e. medium risk/danger).
ALVA warned that mineral-oil hydrocarbons such as MOAHs are food contaminants and are considered to be potentially carcinogenic to human health.
