On Wednesday 28 February 2024, RAK Porcelain held a reception for around 400 invited guests at the Cercle Cité on Place d'Armes in Luxembourg city centre, launching a new tableware collection in collaboration with artist Jacques Schneider.
The “ICONICS LËTZEBUERG” collection was on display at various stations with those invited enjoying a drinks reception and a walking dinner throughout the evening, with live singing performances too. Guests were among the first to discover the new collection and were able to taste the recipe which the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess had offered the artist for his first porcelain collection.
The “De Neie Lëtzebuerg” collection designed by Luxembourg by Jacques Schneider comprises a 13-piece dinner tableware. The artist named the first pieces after the twelve cantons of the Grand Duchy (Capellen, Clervaux, Diekirch, Echternach, Esch-sur-Alzette, Grevenmacher, Luxembourg, Mersch, Redange, Remich, Vianden and Wiltz), and the 13th piece is called Château de Berg. Each canton is showcased through the different pieces which make up this tableware: presentation plates, flat plates, mugs, cereal bowls, cups and saucers, espresso cups, square dishes and deep plates, as well as a three-tier cake stand.
Available individually or in sets, this collection will be on sale from tomorrow, 29 February 2024, at the Jacques Schneider Boutique in the City of Luxembourg and on the RAK Porcelain Webstore.
Mariella Di Giambattista and Sven Bodry, the company’s Operations Directors, commented. “It has been both a privilege and a real pleasure for our company to enter a creative partnership with such a talented and renowned artist as Jacques Schneider. In addition to his artistic genius, his ethical vision of art aligns perfectly with the values which RAK Porcelain upholds. We are particularly enthusiastic about his creations. We are also proud, as a Luxembourg company, to be able to use this new collection to promote the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg throughout our 165 partner countries.”
The artist Jacques Schneider respects Luxembourgish culture and offers a different perspective on contemporary art. The shared passion for gastronomy, elegance and excellence brought Jacques Schneider and RAK Porcelain together. For the artist, the “De Neie Lëtzebuerg” collection is like a dream; he stated: “It is also the culmination of a reflection based on the place of contemporary art in our society and the importance of passing on our values”.
