Luxembourg's food safety authorities have announced the recall of Greek Manouri (soft sheep cheese) from the AB brand (Alfa-Beta) due to the presence of Escherichia coli (E. coli STEC).
The following product has been recalled from Delhaize stores in Luxembourg: brand AB (Alfa-Beta) "Manouri Greek PDO", 200g, with the expiry date 03/06/2022.
A sale by other operators cannot be excluded.
E. coli STEC are likely to produce toxins (shigatoxins) and can cause food poisoning which can occur within a week after consumption, resulting in gastrointestinal disorders often accompanied by cramps.
These symptoms may be aggravated in young children, immunocompromised subjects and the elderly. People who have consumed the product in question and who display these symptoms are advised to consult a doctor.
