The Luxembourg Institute for Standardisation, Accreditation, Safety and Quality of Products and Services (ILNAS) has published its annual guide for selecting safe toys ahead of the festive season.

As Saint Nicholas' Day and Christmas approach, ILNAS, the competent authority for toy safety in Luxembourg, has reissued its guide with tips that help select a safe toy that matches the age and needs of younger consumers.

In its guide, the ILNAS Market Surveillance Department makes thirteen recommendations, for example to only buy toys that bear the CE mark and that do not have sharp parts. In addition, ILNAS has recommended that toys for children under three years of age always be cleaned.

The guide also gives a non-exhaustive list of different categories of toys adapted to the age of the child.

The guide "Comment choisir un jouet", in French, can be downloaded from https://portail-qualite.public.lu/fr/publications/surveillance-marche/guides/Comment-choisir-un-jouet.html.
