The Luxembourg food safety authorities have announced the recall of several pizzas produced by Sodebo and a Trader Joe's fruit and nut mix from the country's supermarkets.

In the first case, Lidl and Auchan informed the food safety authorities of the recall of the following products due to the possible presence of foreign metal bodies: Chef Select brand "Pizza Prosciutto Funghi", 470g with the expiry date 02/06/19 and EAN code 20639075 (Lidl) and Sodebo "Pizza 4 fromages", 470 g with the expiry date 03/06/19, EAN 3242272501053 and barcode 3242272501053. Both products were produced by Sodebo France.

Similarly, the European Rapid Alert System has informed the Luxembourg food authorities of the high content of ochratoxin A in organic sultana raisins contained in certain fruit and nut mixes. Ochratoxin A is a mould-producing mycotoxin that can be present in a variety of products such as cereals, coffee, rice and raisins. Repeated consumption of ochratoxin A may be harmful to health (nephrotic effects).

Consequently, Aldi stores in Luxembourg have withdrawn the following products: Trader Joe's "Bio Mendiants classic", 250g with the expiry dates 09/08/2019, 10/08/2019, 12/08/2019, 15/08/2019 and 17/08/2019 and Trader Joe's "Bio Mendiants exotic", 250g with the expiry dates 12/08/2019, 17/08/2019, 24/08/2019 and 25/08/2019. The lot numbers for the classic mix are: 007685j1203z, 007685j1303y, 007707j1503y, 007728j2003z, 007747j2003z. The lot numbers for the exotic mix are: 00709j1503y, 00708j1503y, 007729j2003z, 007768j2003z, 007772j2703z, 007804j2803z.

Only products with the batch numbers and durability dates indicated are affected. However, a wider distribution cannot be excluded at the moment.

Although the products in question have since been removed from sale in Luxembourg, some of the inventory was sold in Lidl and Auchan stores.

For this reason, Luxembourg's food safety authorities recommend that consumers no longer consume these products.
