Codic, the company in charge of the development of the Royal Hamilius project in Luxembourg City, has handed over the keys to the Delhaize commercial space.

After Galeries Lafayette in February 2019, Delhaize has received the keys to start development work for the opening of a Delhaize Premium this November. The aim is to open a food supermarket that offers its customers a completely innovative and modern shopping experience that meets the specific needs of a 100% urban clientele.

The new Delhaize Premium, spread over a commercial space of 1,000m², will introduce a number of innovative features, such as a new Fresh Workshop for the preparation of fresh food (including unsold products to reduce waste), reusable cotton bags for fruits and vegetables and baked goods and the availability of organic seeds, nuts and cereals in bulk. The supermarket will also offer weekly tastings of different products.

Dirk Kirschvink, Director Delhaize Luxembourg, commented: "Delhaize will want to be the new convenience store that best suits the desires of customers, regardless of their profile [...]. The Delhaize Royal-Hamilius will feature the latest trends and innovations of the brand. With this new concept, Delhaize wants to bring even more colour, inspiration and pleasure to customers' everyday lives".

In terms of architecture, the new store will offer an open space, with the use of low furniture and fridges aimed at offering a sense of space and serenity. The "loft" atmosphere will be enhanced by the use of raw materials such as wood or "metro"-style white tile.

The Delhaize network currently has 52 stores in the Grand Duchy, including shops in Luxembourg City at the Gare, in Bonnevoie and in Cents, as well as the soon-to-be opened Premium store in Royal Hamilius. The new supermarket will be directly connected to the Royal-Hamilius Parking and access provided from the future Place Hamilius.

Galeries Lafayette and Delhaize will soon be joined by FNAC and a rooftop restaurant managed by Moma Group. Key collection will take place in the coming weeks.
Sixteen shops are similarly being developed on one or more floors of the complex, with a surface ranging from 30m² to 630m². These will be located along Rue Aldringen.
