On Tuesday morning, the largest shopping centre in Luxembourg opened its doors to the public.

Bright and spacious, the new Cloche d'Or shopping centre boasts 130 shops and a "World Foodhall" with over 20 restaurants and an Auchan supermarket split across three floors and over a retail space of 75,000m2.

Many big high street fashion names and fashion and beauty brands have opened stores in the centre, including H&M (and H&M Home), Zara (and Zara Home), Levi's, Massimo Dutti, Pull & Bear, Hugo Boss, America Today, COS, Lush and Sephora. There are also some stores that have arrived for the first time in Luxembourg, notably Oysho, Bershka, Stradivarius, Arket, &OtherStories, Zapa and Le Temps des Cerises.

In addition to fashion and beauty, the new shopping centre houses the Ltoys toy store and the Manalena Concept Store, as well as an Art Gallery, Ernster, Phonesmart and a range of cafes from Starbucks to Golden Bean and small food outlets such as Yogurt Factory and Rawdish.

The Cloche d'Or shopping centre also houses a new Auchan supermarket, or "lifestore", a concept that represents the innovative idea behind this new store. For instance, it offers packaging recycling areas and alternatives to the traditional till service.

Moreover, the shopping centre boasts 2,850 parking spaces and offers a range of services from co-working spaces and a barber's to valet parking and a "kids club".

Despite some unfinished touches and empty spaces resulting from the absence of several stores which are scheduled to open in the future, the opening day of the centre was a busy one, with curious visitors and avid shoppers turning up in large numbers to see what Luxembourg's largest shopping centre has to offer. Adults browsed the stores or stopped for coffee or a juice, whilst families explored the Word Foodhall offer and children could play in one of various play areas. Employees were also keen to welcome visitors - expected to reach around eleven million per year - and there were several tastings and offers throughout this special day.

The shopping centre is open Monday to Thursday from 09:00 until 20:00, until 21:00 on Fridays and until 19:00 on Saturdays. The restaurants are open Monday to Saturday from 11:00 to 23:30, whilst smaller cafes and snack stands are open from 10:00 to 22:00. The Auchan Lifestore is open Monday to Saturday from 08:00 until 20:00 and on Fridays until 21:00.
