On Friday morning, Codic unveiled the soon-to-be finished construction site of the Royal-Hamilius project in Luxembourg-Ville.
In 2010, Codic was chosen as the development company for the project. In collaboration with the architects Foster+Partners and Tetra Kayser Associés, construction officially began on 28 September 2016. Now in its final stages, the Luxembourg press had the chance to visit the site during its "Fête du Bouquet".
Deputy CEO of Codic, Vincent Beck, presented the almost-finished project, which includes Galeries Lafayette and is 40 metres high with six floors in total. As well as 3,600m3 of space dedicated to shops, the new building will house 10,000m3 of offices and 73 residences. In this regard, the site will offer private access for residents and office workers. However, there will be a total of three open, public entry-passages.
Inside, the construction site was filled with sunlight thanks to the translucent roof 40 metres above. The building also features escalators connecting each floor and three panoramic lifts. At the very top, the public will have access to a rooftop garden overlooking the capital. The rooftop will similarly house the high-quality Peruvian restaurant Manko, spread over two floors. Offering exotic fish and meat-based dishes, the restaurant forms part of what the project developers hope to be a new experience in Luxembourg.
Among the first confirmed businesses to set up in the new site are Galeries Lafayette, Fnac, Delhaize and sixteen boutiques. The project is scheduled to finish and open to the public by the end of this year.
