The Office for Intellectual Property of Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy has confirmed that patent applicants (or their representatives) can now submit their applications for Luxembourg patents electronically.

This new service, which is based on the electronic filing software developed by the European Patent Office (EPO), has been made available to users of the Benelux Patent Platform (BPP), as of 1 April 2021.

The instructions to follow, particularly regarding the activation of smart cards issued by the EPO, are available on the BPP portal at patent.public.lu/bpp-portal/home.
