The Maison du Grand-Duc has announced that on Friday 23 January 2026, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie will carry out a courtesy visit to the Vatican City.
During the visit the Grand Ducal Couple, accompanied by Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Xavier Bettel, will attend an audience with Pope Leo XIV.
The programme also includes a separate audience for Grand Duke Guillaume and Xavier Bettel with Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State.
Following previous courtesy visits to Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, the visit to the Holy See marks the fourth such visit since the accession to the throne of Grand Duke Guillaume.
