Reverand Evelyn Sweerts of the Anglican Church of Luxembourg was ordained a priest in Ghent, Belgium, by the Bishop of the Church of England Diocese in Europe, Rt. Rev. Robert Innes, last month.
On Sunday 4 October 2020, Rev. Evelyn Sweerts led the community of the Anglican Church of Luxembourg in their celebration of Holy Communion for the first time. She was ordained a priest on 26 September and will continue her training as a curate, working closely with the Chaplain, Rev. Geoff Read, and exercising particular responsibility for mission and ministry among families in and outside the Church community.
The Anglican Church announced that it is seeking to find creative alternatives to traditional church life as it responds to the COVID-19 situation, developing as a hybrid church, blending online and face-to-face services and events. As always, all are very welcome to join in.
