Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, has announced travel disruption on lines 10 and 90 due to the flooding.

Line 10 - no trains until Saturday

The CFL noted that the extent of the rehabilitation works after the floods on the section between Luxembourg and Troisvierges does not allow the resumption of traffic between Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg and Troisvierges; this section will remain closed until Friday 16 July 2021 inclusive. 

Replacement bus services have been set up in both directions between Luxembourg and Ettelbruck (stops: Luxembourg, Mersch (Mierscherbierg), Ettelbruck) and between Troisvierges and Ettelbruck (stops: Troisvierges, Clervaux, Drauffelt, Wilwerwiltz, Ettelbruck).

Other alternative modes of transport are detailed on the CFL website.

In addition, rail traffic between Troisvierges and Liège-Guillemins (Belgium) is disrupted until Sunday 18 July 2021.

Line 90 - disruptions until Sunday

The CFL confirmed that rehabilitation work, following the flooding at the relay station in Bettembourg, would continue until Sunday 18 July 2021 inclusive. Rail traffic is disrupted between Luxembourg and Thionville (France) during this period.

The CFL and French railway company, the SNCF, have set up a replacement bus service in both directions between Luxembourg and Thionville and between Thionville and Hettange-Grande (France). Two additional trains will run from Thionville (departure: 07:10) to Longwy (arrival: 08:04) and from Metz (departure: 06:39) to Longwy (arrival: 09:05).

The CFL noted that its teams are on site working to restore rail traffic on the various sections affected by the flooding. Passengers are asked to take precautions and to consult the train timetables on the CFL mobile application or on the CFL website: www.cfl.lu.
