Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works has confirmed that LuxTram, which only last month opened its second phase which means that it now connects Luxembourg-Gare to Kirchberg, will next extend the line to Howald in 2023.
Full details of this extension are to be unveiled this Thursday 28 January 2021 at 19:00, by Francois Bausch, Minister of Mobility and Public Works, in a digital presentation (in Luxembourgish, with simultaneous French translation). He will address the scope and challenges of the project, its implementation phasing and the nature of the planned work. The presentation will be carried live online at www.transports.lu or on the Facebook page mmtp.luxembourg.
Members of the public can send questions in advance to email: communication@mmtp.etat.lu.
In a few weeks' time, construction work on the new N3 road and the extension of the tram to the Cloche d'Or will begin. The extension of the tram network, the development of a cycle network, the construction of a hub for trains, buses and trams, as well as the strengthening of primary roads will contribute to the successive metamorphosis of Howald and improve the mobility of people.
