Luxembourg's Ministry of Education, Children and Youth has announced that 3,957 students are registered for the 2026 secondary school leaving examinations.
The written tests for the final exams for classical and general secondary education will start on Monday 18 May 2026.
A total of 3,957 students, including 2,224 young women (56.2%) and 1,733 young men (43.8%), are registered for the 2026 summer exam session.
Registrations for the various leaving exams are distributed as follows:
- classical secondary school leaving exam: 1,750 students (970 female and 780 male);
- general secondary school leaving exam: 2,207 students (1,254 female and 953 male).
In addition, ten evening class students (four women and six men) will also sit their final exams.
A total of 1,674 members of 272 examination boards will evaluate the written, oral and practical tests.
According to the ministry, Luxembourg's Minister of Education, Children and Youth, Claude Meisch, "wishes all candidates the best of luck in these exams, which will mark the end of their secondary school studies and open the door to higher education or the workforce."
