On Wednesday 25 March 2026, St George's International School in Luxembourg-Hamm announced that it had been named among the world's top 100 private schools in this year's Spears Schools Index.
Launched in 2020, the Spears Schools Index is a trusted point of reference for internationally mobile families, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices and the advisers who support them. The index identifies schools that value academic strength alongside wellbeing and global citizenship.
St George's Principal Zeba Clarke said being named as one of the world's top 100 private schools was an "incredible honour" and reflected the "commitment, drive and dedication" of staff, students and the St George's community.
"We are delighted to receive recognition from Spear's. The index celebrates educational innovation, the quality of a school's staff and facilities, and the exceptional opportunities that private schools provide their students," Mrs Clarke said. "Academic excellence is, of course, important and our results in this area speak for themselves. Our students go to the top universities across Europe and around the world. They win awards locally and internationally. And they do so while contributing to the community and upholding our school values of courage, honesty, kindness, respect and wisdom."
St George's described the past twelve months as "remarkable": in June 2025, Primary teacher Síghle O'Doherty was named the Pearson International School Teacher of the Year for Europe, standing out among more than 250 nominated candidates. Her colleague Mary Davis was shortlisted for the same award.
Spear's also listed St George's as one of the top private schools in Europe. Its review of the school can be found here.
