On Monday 23 March 2026, members of the Third National Representation of Parents appointed Carla Carvalho as president during a meeting.

The Third National Representation of Parents was elected on Saturday 28 February 2026. Carla Carvalho, who has been a member of the National Representation since 2023, succeeds Alain Massen as president.

The National Representation of Parents is elected every three years and is composed of twelve members: four representing fundamental education, six representing secondary education and two representing the Centres of Competence in Specialised Psychopedagogy.

Established by the law of 1 August 2018, the National Representation of Parents was first elected in February 2020. The body is tasked with speaking on behalf of parents nationwide on matters affecting the interests of parents and pupils.

The mandate of the Third National Representation of Parents runs from February 2026 to 2029.
