The inauguration of the H2O centre took place on Friday 1 March 2024; the space accommodates three national education services under one roof in Howald (in the municipality of Hesperange).

The services in question are the regional directorate of primary school education, responsible for the municipalities of Bettembourg, Frisange , Hesperange, Roeser and Weiler-la-Tour, as well as the local branch of the National Office for Children (Office National de l’Enfance - ONE) and an Eltereforum (parents’ forum), Luxembourg's Ministry for Education, Children and Youth explained.

The event took place in the presence of Luxembourg’s Minister of Education, Children and Youth, Claude Meisch, the regional director of primary school education, Jean-Paul Welter, the Director of the ONE, Michèle Bressanutti, the Mayor of the commune of Hesperange, Marc Lies, presidents of school committees in the region, other members of regional directorates of primary school education as well as representatives of the ONE, the Eltereforum and centres of expertise in specialised educational psychology.

Parents, children and young people from the regions of Bettembourg, Frisange, Hesperange, Roeser and Weiler-la-Tour will be able to access numerous skills in terms of schooling, educational inclusion, youth and child and family support in the space installed at 33 Rue de Gasperich. The services brought together in the H2O Building will be able to benefit from the synergies and collaborations made possible by their proximity, the ministry added.

The H2O building also houses the support team for pupils with specific educational needs (ESEB), attached to the regional management. To access care for their child, parents can contact the inclusion commissions (Commission d'inclusion - CI) attached to the regional directorates of primary school education or present in secondary school education establishments, or the national inclusion commission (Commission nationale d'inclusion - CNI), the ministry concluded.
