Luxembourg's Ministry of Education, Children and Youth has announced that as part of WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition, WorldSkills Luxembourg will host the Robot Systems Integration event at the CNFPC Esch-sur-Alzette, 22, Rue Henri Koch, from Monday 17 to Thursday 20 October 2022.

Elelven teams and more than 75 participants from all over the world including a team from Luxembourg will compete for four days.

This event is free and open to the general public on Tuesday 18 and Thursday 20 October from 13:00 to 16:00.

The WorldSkills Competitions take place in principle every two years, in a different city. WorldSkills Shanghai 2022 scheduled for May 2022 had to be canceled due to COVID-19. WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition replaces it, with an unprecedented idea with to organise 62 competitions, between  7 September and 26 November 2022, in fifteen different countries. More than 1,000 young competitors will compete in a spirit of friendship and fair play.

Alongside this competition, the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth and WorldSkills Luxembourg announced the first National Robotics Week, an educational event offering fun workshops, demonstrations, visits for primary and secondary schools. Sixteem primary and sixteen secondary school classes have registered, representing some 600 students.

Specific programme open to the public:

On 18 October 2022 from 13:00 to 16:00: presentation of Smart Technologies training by the six high schools offering this path (Atert-Lycée Redange, Lycée des Arts et Métiers, Lycée technique d'Ettelbruck, Lycée Guillaume Kroll, Lënster Lycée in Junglinster and Lycée Emile Metz) and workshops.

On 20 October 2022 from 13:00 to 16:00: presentation of the Digital Learning Hub's adult offer.
