Luxembourg's Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth has published an overview of the COVID-19 situation in Luxembourg schools for the week of 30 November to 6 December 2020.

The figures for students and teachers who test positive for COVID-19 relate to all public and private primary and secondary schools located in Luxembourg.

During the week of 30 November to 6 December 2020, a total of 758 new cases were identified, including:

- 641 positive cases corresponding to scenario 1 were counted in public and private primary and secondary schools and in skill centres (scenario 1: a pupil or teacher infected outside the school without the virus having spread at school);

- 83 cases corresponding to scenario 2 were observed in public and private primary and secondary schools and in a skills centre (scenario 2: maximum of two positive cases in a class with an uncertain source of infection or probably outside the class);

- 20 positive cases of scenario 3 type were identified in public and private primary and secondary schools (scenario 3: three to five positive cases in a class);

- The situation in two primary schools evolved into scenario 4 (chain of infection within a school: several classes concerned or a class with more than five cases). In both cases, the scenario 4 was triggered by the infection of a teacher (identified the week before and having triggered a scenario 1). Subsequent tests identified seven positive cases among pupils in each of the primary schools (fourteen in total).

In general, the number of positive cases remains relatively stable.
