The Royal Society of Chemistry organises an annual chemistry based competition entitled ‘Top of the Bench’ to encourage young talented chemical scientists to consider further education and careers in Chemistry.
This year the Belgian regional event allowed students from schools in Belgium and Luxembourg to compete and the St George’s International School student team ‘Hydrogen’ emerged as overall winners from a field of 14 entrants. They will now go on to represent Belgium and Luxembourg in the final competition, which will be held in the UK at Loughborough University in April 2016.
One of the St George’s students also achieved the highest score of any Year 10 student in the competition.
