A public petition requesting lower prices at private nurseries in case of prolonged absence has launched in the Grand Duchy.

The public petition (No. 2073), initiated by Angelissa Anelli, calls for a reduction of the prices of private nurseries if the child is absent for more than fourteen consecutive days. The petition is open for signatures from Friday 12 November until Thursday 23 December 2021 inclusive.

The petition argued that since children are often ill during the first years in nursery, it would be appropriate for parents to have reduced bills from private nurseries when the child is away for a period longer than fourteen consecutive days, both in the event of illness or planned absence communicated in advance with the nursery.
