On Friday 27 October 2023, Luxembourg's Minister for Home Affairs, Taina Bofferding, swore in the colleges of the mayor and aldermen/alderwomen of the municipalities of Beaufort and Berdorf.

By the Grand Ducal Decree of 26 October 2023, Jean-Luc Nosbusch has been appointed Mayor of Beaufort and Joé Nilles has been appointed Mayor of Berdorf.

By the ministerial decree of 23 October 2023, the following individuals have been appointed alderpeople: Bruno Domingues Grilo and Lynn Mossong have been appointed to the positions of alderman and alderwoman for Beaufort; Daniel Scharff and Marc Wintersdorf have been appointed aldermen for Berdorf.

On Friday morning, the aforementioned individuals took the new oath prescribed by article 6 of the amended municipal law of 13 December 1988, in front of Minister Bofferding: "I swear to observe the Constitution and the laws and to fulfil my function with integrity, accuracy and impartiality."

Whilst the municipal elections took place across Luxembourg on 11 June 2023, these had been postponed in Berdorf following the death of a candidate. In Beaufort, the June election results were annulled after it was found that one of the candidates did not have their usual residence in the municipality and was thus ineligible. In both cases, residents went to the polls (again, in the case of Beaufort) on the same day as the legislative elections, on 8 October 2023.
