Luxembourg will today be hosting the Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) Council of the European Union, which will address, among others, the implementation of the EU-Turkey declaration and the evolution of the situation in the Central Mediterranean.
Luxembourg Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, will participate in the Council, where the Dutch Presidency will present the latest evidence regarding the European Corps of Border Guards. Among them will be the negotiations with the European Parliament as well as preparations for an implementation in the near future.
The Council is also expected to discuss the liberalisation of the visa regime. The Commission presented proposals of the visa regime for Kosovo and Turkey in May and for Georgia and Ukraine in March and April.
