On 1 and 2 June 2016, the Grand Duchy will receive a visit from Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities of Cabo Verde, Luís Filipe Tavares, on the occasion of the 16th Partnership Commission.
The minister will be hosted by Minister of Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Romain Schneider, at the Hôtel Saint-Augustin for a political dialogue, before the 16th Partnership Commission and a working lunch.
Ministers will review cooperation relations between the two countries, particularly within the context of the progress on the fourth Indicative Cooperation Programme (ICP IV). The ICP, which was signed on 12 March 2015 on the island of Santo Antão during the official visit of HRH the Grand Duke, covers the period from 2016 to 2030 and focuses on employment and employability, water and sanitation, as well as renewable energy. Emphasis will be placed on the diversification of bilateral relations towards greater economic cooperation.
Luís Filipe Tavares will also be received at the Hôtel de Bourgogne by the Prime Minister, Minister of State, Xavier Bettel.
The Cabo Verdean Foreign Minister will also exchange views with the members of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Cooperation and Immigration.
A meeting with the Cape Verdean community is also planned.
The reception follows the visit of Cabo Verde's Prime Minister, José Maria Neves, to Luxembourg in mid-February 2016, where he discussed bilateral relations with Xavier Bettel and Romain Schneider.
