Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, will be joining a debate on the EU being streamed live on German TV on Thursday 12 May 2016.
At the invitation for the West Deutscher Rundfunk (WDR), Minister Asselborn will participate in the 2016 edition of the "WDR Europaforum" being held under the theme "Europa - ohne Europäer? Die EU im Krisenmodus. Europa verändert sich" ("Europe - without Europeans? The EU in Crisis Mode. Europe is changing").
As part of a debate revolving around the question of Europe in 'crisis mode', led by the director of Germany's leading public broadcaster ARD, Rolf-Dieter Krause, Minister Asselborn will discuss the future of the European Union with his Slovakian counterpart, Miroslav Lajčák.
The debate will be broadcast live at 12:30 on the German television channel WDR and will also be streamed here.
It was announced that the Minister will also make use of his visit to Berlin to attend a round table on "Europa: Raum der Freiheit(in) - Warum brauchen wir Schengen" ("Europa: Area of Freedom(s) - Why We Need Schengen", at the invitation of the Representation of Rhineland-Palatinate to the Federal Government and the European Union.
