On Monday 2 May 2016, Minister of Equal Opportunities, Lydia Mutsch, received the new board of the National Council of Women of Luxembourg (CNFL).
The board is now represented by president Janine Reuland-Schneider; Anik Raskon, head of direction; Danièle Martin, first vice-president; Diane Adehm, treasurer, Monique Stein, mamnger of the 'Communal Politics' department; Nadine Bertrang, secretary; and Alexa Warnier, CNFL representative to 'Wunnéngshëllef'.
During the meeting, the board members presented the CNFL's priorities for 2016.
Apart from the numerous projects to highlight the role of women in society, such as the JIF platform, and collaboration with the Ministry of Equal Opportunities regarding the campaign for the 2017 local elections, the CNFL will focus on equality between women and men, in relation to religions; the mobilisation and engagement of young women; and violence against women, including rape as a war crime.
Minister Mutsch welcomed the collaboration between the Ministry and the CNFL which she stated would continue in the same spirit in the future.
