Several ministers from the Luxembourg Government will be attending various meetings in the coming days.

On Friday 15 and Saturday 16 April 2016, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Minister for Immigration and Asylum, Jean Asselborn, will be in Switzerland at the invitation of Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of Justice and Police (DFJP) of the Swiss Confederation, Simonetta Sommaruga, with whom he will review the migration situation in Europe. Together, the Minister and Federal Councillor will then visit the pilot centre in Zurich in the process of testing accelerared asylum procedures. The following day, Minister Asselborn will visit the 'Visions du Réel' international film festival in Nyon, which will screen the documentary 'Foreign Affairs' featuring himself as one of the protagonists.

On Monday 18 April 2016, Minister of Health, Lydia Mutsch, will attend the informal meeting of EU Health Ministers being held in Amsterdam under the auspices of the Dutch Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The meeting will focus on three topics: access to innovative and affordable medicines, healthy food choices and antimicrobial resistance.

That same day, Luxembourg will in turn receive the High Commissioner of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Filippo Grandi, who will be hosted by Prime Minister, Minister of State, Xavier Bettel at the Hôtel de Bourgogne. As part of the 'Foreign Affairs' Council taking place in Luxembourg, Filippo Grandi will attend a working lunch in the presence of European foreign ministers. He will also hold meetings with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, and the Minister of Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Romain Schneider. Talks will focus on the migration crisis as well as on refugee issues in Europe, particulalry Luxembourg. The longstanding cooperation between Luxembourg and the UNHCR on humanitarian issues will also be addressed.
