Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Nicolas Schmit, and Minister of Social Security, Romain Schneider, will participate in the informal meeting of Ministers for Employment and Social Affairs of the European Union to be held on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 April 2016.
At the meeting, being held in Amsterdam under the Dutch Presidency of the Council of the EU, the ministers will discuss aspects relating to worker mobility, the implementation of the European core of social rights - one of the central subjects of the Luxembourg Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2015 - and the priorities of the platform in the fight against undeclared work.
Ahead of the meeting, Nicolas Schmit, as president of the ministerial group of PES members, will chair a meeting of socialist and social democrat Ministers of Labour
and Employment, dedicated to the informal meeting's agenda.
