Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, together with Heads of State of the European Union, will be meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Ahmet Davatoglu, today, Monday 7 March 2016, in Brussels.
The meeting will focus on the refugee crisis and in particular on progress in the implementation of the EU-Turkey action plan.
The meeting with the Prime Minister of Turkey will be followed by a EU Council meeting to discuss the necessary measures to stem migration flows as well as the fight against trafficking and smuggling networks.
Ahead of these meetings, Minister Bettel, chaired a preparatory Benelux meeting with the Prime Minister of Belgium, Charles Michel, and Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte.
