
Luxembourg Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Nicolas Schmit, is in Brussels today to present the achievements of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union, held between July and December 2015, before the Constitutional Affairs Committee.
Minister Schmit will then be travelling to Paris to attend the ministerial meeting of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on Friday 15 January 2016. This meeting will be devoted to employment and work, with a focus on the development of more resilient and inclusive labour markets.
The meeting will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Welfare of Ireland, Joan Burton, with Minister Schmit intervening on the subject of the integration of the long-term unemployed.
