Marc Hansen, Luxembourg's Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research, yesterday attended the 2015 graduation for specific training in general medicine within the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication of the University of Luxembourg.
In his speech, the Secretary of State congratulated the graduates for the completion of their training course. He recalled the efforts that the government continues to make to enable young people to turn to the medical sector, whether for Luxembourg residents to access education in medicine abroad, or the development of the supply of medical education in Luxembourg.
Marc Hansen thanked the members of the executive committee of the specific training course in general medicine and the University of Luxembourg for their pioneering spirit and their unwavering commitment.
He concluded with the announcement that, in 2016, additional funding for specific training in general medicine to the tune of €300,000 will be added to the current funding of €180,000, in order to sustain the current structures in place. In 2017, it is planned to bring the total funding to €580,000.
