In his capacity as Minister of Communications and Media, Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel will participate in the Telecommunications section of the 'Transport, Telecommunications and Energy' (TTE) Council being held in Brussels on 10 and 11 December 2015.
The Prime Minister and Commissioner Günther Oettinger are meeting the ministers in charge of the Telecom and ICT sector on Thursday, as well as the Ministers of Labour, Education and Research at a dinner to widen the discussion of e-skills.
On Friday 11 December 2015, the Council is expected to hold a policy debate on the upcoming review of EU regulations in telecommunications. The Luxembourg Presidency will report on the informal agreement reached on 7 December 2015 with the European Parliament regarding the draft directive on the security of networks and information systems. The Presidency is also due to present a report on the progress made on proposed rules to facilitate access to public sector websites.
Lastly, the incoming Dutch Presidency will present its work programme in the field of telecommunications.
The session will be chaired by Xavier Bettel.
