The University of Luxembourg has announced that a public lecture on the topic of "Inequality and ...? Beyond GDP" is being held on Thursday 8 January 2015 at 13:00 at STATEC (Chambre de Commerce de Luxembourg, 7 rue Alcide de Gasperi, Luxembourg-Kirchberg).
Co-organised by the University of Luxembourg, the event will discuss possible frameworks to measure equitable and sustainable wellbeing and opportunities to develop policies to reduce inequality in European countries. Indeed, a great deal of work over the last ten years has been carried out to measure the progress of our societies going “Beyond GDP”. New indicators have been developed, as well as initiatives to better integrate economic, social and environmental policies. But in the meantime, income inequality has grown in both developed and developing countries.
The lecture will be held by Enrico Giovannini.
