The Villeroy & Boch World culinary Cup takes place at LuxExpo in Luxembourg-Kirchberg from 22 - 26 November.
Over the five days, 45 teams containing 450+ chefs from across the five continents will prepare dishes for an 880-seat gourmet restaurant, in an out-of-the-ordinary culinary competition, with the Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup at stake.
The event kicks off off this Saturday, 22 November with the US, England, Wales, Hungary, Spain and Romania (national teams), and Germany, Wales and Slovenia (junior national teams). More than 30 countries will compete from November 22 to 26 in both categories.
Luxembourg is competing in the Regional Teams category, and an Itallux team consisting of Italian and Luxembourg chefs will participate on 26 November.
The event is open to the public who can reserve meals online at www.expogast.lu.
Everyday at noon, teams from the catering competition will be evaluated on the basis of the regulations imposed by the World Association of Chefs. Everything is taken into account in the evaluation, appearance, composition, preparation and service. The public will "try" their creations on the spot.
Expogast also has 200 exhibitors participating, to the delight of foodies.
