On Monday, Luxembourg's Minister of the Middle Classes and Tourism, Françoise Hetto-Gaash, along with Pierre Barthelmé, first government adviser, Claude Meisch, Mayor of the City of Differdange, and aldermen Roberto Traversini and Jean Lorgé, visited the site of the new aquatic centre "Aquasud" in Differdange.
The water sports centre will include an indoor and outdoor leisure pool, a lap pool, a wading pool, a teaching pool, a wellness center, a fitness center and a nursery for children. This major project will complement the leisure offer of the City of Differdange, will further enhance the quality of life and help to convey the image of a dynamic and welcoming city.
"Aquasud" will be an added attraction not only for tourists but also for the people of Differdange and the southern region of the country. The project hopes to welcome more than 150,000 visitors per year.
Construction will be completed in the coming months and the opening of the aquatic centre is planned for early 2014.
This project of the City of Differdange is financed by the Ministry of Middle Classes and Tourism.
