Histoire Urbaine Luxembourg Announces two different tours on 14 and 21 July.
14 July: Villas located on Boulevard Joseph II.
Itinerary: chapel at the Glacis, Avenue Marie-Therese: The emergence of a residential neighbourhood beyond the park: with a visit to the interior of the chapel of the Sisters of the Congregation of St. Elizabeth and the chapel of Glacis. The architects Louis Funcs and Edouard André draw up plans of the upper town which are still kept to the original ideas. The tour will point out the main historical perspectives of the villas build nearby the city parks and how they were eventually further developed in a more modern perspective.
The start of this tour is at 14:00 in front of the Chapel of Glacis and the arrival point is at Avenue Marie-Thérese. The tour
will be 90 minutes long and it will be held in French; organised by MNHA.

21 July: Herb Market to Royal Hamilius project
This tour is organised to discover the evolution of trade in Luxembourg City from the Renaissance to the present. The tour follows the Marché aux herbes, Rue de la Reine, Place Guillaume, rue du Fossé, Puits Rougé, Côte d'Eich, rue Beaumont, rue des Capuchins and rue Aldringen. The tour will present trade and markets before the industrial revolution and ends with a presentation of the future project "Royal Hamilius.”
The tour starts at 11:00 at the History Museum of Luxembourg at Rue du St. Esprit, and ends at Hamilius. The tour will be held in French and it lasts 90 minutes; organised by the History Museum.
