Today, on 29 November 2016, the Luxembourg Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, visited Havana in Cuba to take part in a tribute ceremony for the late Fidel Castro.
Today, Minister Jean Asselborn attended a ceremony paying tribute to Fidel Castro which took place in the Plaza de la Revolución. He also met his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodrigues, during the visit.
Whilst, the Minister had initially planned to carry out a bilateral work visit to Cuba this week, this has been postponed until the beginning of 2017 due to the death of Fidel Castro. In light of this development, the Cuban authorities wanted Asselborn to attend this tribute ceremony to the historic leader of Cuba.
