As part of its Kannerliicht campaign and to celebrate Universal Children’s Day, UNICEF Luxembourg has organised a human chain of solidarity to stop violence against children, to take place on Friday 18 November 2016.
This is the second time that UNICEF Luxembourg has organised a human chain of solidarity for the purpose of fighting against violence against children. It forms part of UNICEF Luxembourg’s Kannerliicht campaign which is taking place throughout November and which focuses on children’s right. This year’s theme is, indeed, violence against children.
Violence against children takes place every day, in every country and affects all genders. It is a phenomenon found across all cultures, regardless of social context, income or ethnicity. Such violence has devastating effects on these children’s health, social lives and can lead to psychological and cognitive problems.
As such, the event has been organised to unite the public in reinforcing the fact that all children have the right to a life free of violence and that such violence is unacceptable.
The human chain will take place on 18 November between 12:30 and 12:40 at Place Guillaume II (Knuedler).
All participants will receive a hot chocolate, according to availability.
