A new Ireland-Luxembourg co-production is to commence the Luxembourg part of its film shoot in the Grand Duchy at the end of November and through December, and are looking for a number of actors to play parts in the film.
Black 47 (previously named "The Ranger") is an Irish co-production between Samsa Films in Luxembourg and Fastnet Films in Ireland, the production company that also filmed Mammal and Love Eternal here in Luxembourg. Black 47 is written by P.J. Dillon, Eugene O'Brien and Pierce Ryan, and is directed by Lance Daly (Life's a Breeze; Kisses); in Luxembourg, the co-producer is Bernard Michaux who also co-produced the Ireland-Luxembourg co-production The Runway (2010). Set in 1847 during the great famine, it tells the story of a young Connaught Ranger who returns from fighting for the British during the Afghan War. On his return he discovers that his family have been thrown off their land and left to die. He sets off to find those responsible.
This action-filled drama requires many extras to play starving peasants (so skinny appearances essential), as well as some soldiers and officers who will also be thin. The search is for people of all ages who are VERY SKINNY to play these extra roles on any of the following filming days here in Luxembourg:
November: 28, 29, 30
December: 1, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22
