On 10 November 2016, Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel will meet with his Portuguese counterpart António Costa in the Palacete de São Bento in Lisbon.

During his meeting with the Portuguese Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel will discuss current European and international politics as well as bilateral relations between Portugal and Luxembourg.

Moreover, as Minister for Communication and Media, Luxembourg’s Prime Minister will attend the Web Summit in Lisbon, which is the most important event for digital technology in Europe with over 50,000 participants.

Xavier Bettel will notably take part in a discussion entitled “Future societies – Digital by default societies”, which focuses on the impact of digital technology on society and the way in which governments use these technologies. The Prime Minister will have the opportunity to discuss the challenges for Luxembourg in regard to digitalisation, as well as to illustrate how the Luxembourgish government can benefit from digital opportunities.

Additionally, as part of the Web Summit, Xavier Bettel will meet with a delegation of members of the Chamber of Commerce as well as with five young Luxembourgers who won the chance to participate in the summit through a contest organised by Digital Lëtzebuerg.
