Luxembourg's Minister of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, François Bausch, has welcomed the successful implementation of "green licenses" in relation to the recent taxi reform which included initiatives for tax drivers to use electric (zero emission) vehicles.
By introducing twenty "zero emissions” licenses in 2016, sustainable growth of this link in the mobility chain is ensured.
Since the first day of the entry into force of the reform of taxis on 1 September 2016, the demand for "zero emissions" licenses has been noticeably high. To date, there has been a total of twenty-three applications, including twenty requests for zone 1 (maximum of 15 planned) and 3 for the zones 2-6 (maximum of 5 scheduled).
Note: cars can be used in the future providing a taxi service must not emit more than 130g of CO2 / km and must comply with the Euro V standard.
