On Tuesday 13 October 2015, the Fédération du Label Cassis held its fourth Business Event, focused on sharing IT resources in Consulting, Assistance and ServiceS in Information Systems (CASSIS).
The Fédération was established in March 2011 as a network of Luxembourgish, Belgian and French actors built around Cassis methods, developed by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) to promote quality IT service in SMEs.
The fourth Business Event assembled more than 50 participants constituting SMEs, consultants, service and institutional providors at the Paul Eischen caterer in Capellen. The conference presented the activities of the Federation in the fields of critical computing, selecting software and outsourcing in companies, as well as its decision earlier this year to launch a mobile application to the benefit of its members and their activities in the Greater Region.
Presided over by Jean-Marc Gérardy, the main objective of the Fédération du Label Cassis is to enable its members to put their labelled skills on SME services. Earlier this year, the Fédération was assigned rights to Cassis brand management by LIST and now controls the allocation and maintenance of the Cassis label. Through a partnership with Technifutur in Liège, the Cassis label is also deployed in Belgium and is expected to be used in France by the Lorraine side in the near future.
Following a presentation from the sponsors of the event and new memebers, Philippe Brachotte of Technifutur proposed an interesting sharing solution for consultants in software selection; Olivier Vandenbrouck of Scalis described pooling services and computer equipment through a solution deployed on the Cloud; and Mohamed Cherif from Piacoo Consulting came from paris to present the advantages of SaaS software for digital mobility.
A highlight of the evening arrived in the form of Jean-Luc Gérardy, former Chief of the IT Infrastructure Operations Division of the European Central Bank (ECB), giving his experience of the implementation of a common support to internal and external users of ECB computing.
