From Friday 11 to Sunday 13 March 2016, 120 skaters arrived in Luxembourg from 26 different countries to compete in the annual Coupe du Printemps in Kockelscheuer.
It was a triumphant weekend for Swedish European Championships competitor, Joshi Helgesson, who once again came away victorious in both the Senior Ladies Short Programme and Free Skating with an overall score of 56.00 and 93.68, respectively. Japan's Rin Nitaya also claimed second prize in both categories with 50.77 and 89.95, respectively, followed by Italian Giada Russo in third with 48.36 and 83.09, respectively. Luxembourg's Fleur Maxwell earned ninth place in the Short Programme with a score of 39.47, narrowly missing out on 8th just behind Anastasia Kononenko of Ukraine with 39.70 points.
Kazakhstani figure skater Denis Ten came away with the top spot in the Senior Men Short Programme category with an impressive total score of 86.95. Belgium's Jorik Hendrickx scooped second prize in the same category with 77.45, whilst an overall score of 68.87 earned Great Britain's Phillip Harris third prize. However, in the Free Skating category it was Jorik Hendrickx who claimed victory, beating Japan's Takahito Mura to the top spot with 165.77. Mura held second place with 156.44, followed by Canadian Bennet Toman who earned 137.12.
Luxembourg's Mara Wagner and Chloe Villedey finished in 19th and 22nd place, respectively, in the Junior Ladies Short Programme, whilst Gemma Marshall claimed 18th with 24.31 points in Advanced Novice Girls. An overall score of 27.15 earned Tereza Kravalova 10th place in the Basic Novice Girls Free Skating whilst Gemma Marshall improved her score from the Short Programme to earn 16th place in the Advanced Novice Free Skating.
