On Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 March the 2016 Luxembourg National Indoor Archery Championships took place in the national archery center in Strassen, with 15 year-old Joé Klein winning the Men's Recurve Championships, and Pascale Glesener winning the women's Recurve Championships.
The results for recurve, the olympic discipline, and compound bow are as follows:

This year's senior championships showed that young talent is on its way to the top. The number two in compound women, Danielle Weber, is 16 years old, as is the number two in recurve women, Viveca Beckers. After an exciting final match, Viveca Beckers, the Luxembourg indoor champion of 2014 and 2015, had to leave the gold medal to Pascale Glesener, who made an astonishing come-back after an absence of almost two years.
The biggest surprise however, was in the finals of recurve men, where 15 year-old Joé Klein beat favourite Jeff Henckels. Joé managed to force a shoot-off, in which only one arrow decides on who wins when the match results in a tie. By hitting the target dead center, he left Jeff no chance.
With the indoor championship the winter season now closed, the outdoor season is due to commence in April. There is a total of 10 archery clubs around the Grand Duchy. For more information, see www.flta.lu.
