The annual Coupe du Printemps ice skating competition will taking place from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 March 2016 at the Ice Rink in Kockelscheuer, organised by the Union Luxembourgeoise de Patinage (ULP) and the Club Hiversport-Luxembourg Patinage, will have five Luxembourg skaters participating
Among the 120 skaters from 26 different countries - including Japan, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kyrgyzstan, France, Belgium and Germany - will be five from the Grand Duchy: Fleur Maxwell, Mara Wagner, Chloé Villedey, Gemma Marshall and Tereza Kravalova.
They will be joined on the ice by well-known skaters including Takahito Mura who finished 5th in the recent Four Continents Championships in Taiwan, Rin Niyata, who finished 2nd in the Junior Grand Prix of Torun in Poland, Joshi Helgesson, who came 9th in the last European Championships and the winner of the last Coupe du Printemps.
The competition will be closed with a Gala from 18:00 on Sunday 13 March 2016, which in turn will be followed by a cocktail on the ice, during which all competitors, sponsors, media and figure skating enthusiasts will be able to mix and mingle. Sunday evening will represent an opportunity for both Luxembourgish and foreign skaters to demonstrate their talents in a free programme and celebrate the three days of competition.
The competition costs €5 per day, with under 3s provided free entry, whilst the Gala costs €15 for age 13s and over, €5 for children aged 4-12 and free for under 3s. Tickets will be on sale on the day of the competition and online at www.cdp2016.com.
