It is an established tradition that the Sports Minister and his staff invites the team of Special Olympics Luxembourg to the Institut National des Sports (INS) at Fetschenhaff after their international participation.

On Tuesday, four years to the day after the honours were given to the SOL team particpating at the World Games in Athens in 2011, it was the turn of the team competing in Los Angeles (20 July to 4 August 2015).

Luxembourg's Minister for Sports, Romain Schneider, spoke at a reception at the INS and related how he was proud of the great success of the delegation (38 athletes and 19 coaches and officials) who won a total of 28 medals.

SOL Chairwoman Pascale Schmoetten conveyed much thanks to the Ministry of Sports, for their part in enabling real inclusion in sports for persons with intellectual disabilities. The head of delegation Marc Feltgen gave a short overview of the stay of the team in the States, as well the whole professional preparation the year before leaving for the games in LA; many medals and personal bests were the results of these efforts. Photographs shown on a large screen refreshed the great memories of the World Games in LA for those attending.
